Healthcare's
Obligation to Help Society Age with Quality
What role do healthcare organizations share in
helping people of all ages think
about and then prepare for aging? If you look around currently, actions
would indicate
that they have no responsibility. Perhaps they should.
Denial is not just a River in
Egypt
It is amazing how many consulting engagements I undertake where most of the
C-Suite know the issues already. But they are afraid to act on them even
when they are
sure of the solutions. Yes some of that requires third party validation (in
some cases the consultant is the villain). In the process, much time and
resources are wasted.
Stop denying and start acting.
Here is a second article on the topic as well.
Great Brands Engage the Senses and Stir Emotions
Research has found that consumers have decided that most brands
don't matter, signifying a newly empowered consumer. However,
great brands
appeal to our senses and lead to emotional responses.
And that does matter!
And When Emotions Are Stirred People Tell Stories
Word of mouth marketing is directly related to the experience
people have with an organization. That word of mouth is expressed in
stories. Stories stir emotions and stories are spread. Read how one
health care organization uses the power of patient stories.
You Can Help Spread Stories by Leveraging Social Media but first...
This Hospital Impact blog does something smart. It addresses the
objections
and fears that health care administrators often express about social media
and
then details how you can address them.
To leverage this medium properly you need strong C-Suite commitment not
the
nod of the head approval that can come back and haunt you when they say
"I had no idea what you were doing.!
Now That You Have Permission Build Your Community
I read recently that a new job is creeping into marketing that of
"community manager." After all someone has to figure out what the
community is saying, participate in the discussion, address needs and
otherwise leverage (in a good way) this army of ambassadors.
Here are some tips to get you started.
